The reader's confusion or reversal of b's and d's will probably resolve over time. Why hold the rest of this student's reading skills back (and the child's intellectual growth back) until the problem does resolve? Allow all the other reading skills to develop despite the reversal problem AND protect the student's self image by ignoring as much as possible the inefficiency that the child cannot really change."
